NEW NAMES: JOHN FOGERTY, JOE COCKER, GARY MOORE, PAUL RODGERS AND THE WATERBOYS In addition to John Fogerty, Paul Rodgers & Band, Kim Wilde, Joe Bonamassa en Angelo Kelly & Band, we can now add 12 more names to the great line-up for Bospop 2007: Joe Cocker, Gary Moore, The Waterboys, Bløf, Blondie, The Scene, Venice, John Mayall, Marc Ford, The Yayhoos Blowbeat. Bospop will be held at the Boshoven sports centre in Weert, the Netherlands, on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 July this year. Presales for Bospop 2007 started on 17 March.
On Saturday 7 July, Joe Cocker will be the closing act on the main Bospop stage. Although Joe Cocker has been around for many years, this living legend is still an excellent live entertainer. The same goes for Deborah Harry, better known as Blondie. This lady will be on stage in Weert on 7 July, and can be expected to play some of her greatest hits, including the 1978 classic 'Denise'. And of course an internationally oriented band like Bløf couldn't miss Bospop! Bløf visited fellow-musicians all over the world for inspiration for their latest album 'Umoja'. The many different musical styles and instruments have made this into a unique album, and it's also great material for live shows. In 2002, singer Thé Lau announced that he was breaking up with his band The Scene. Now, after a five-year break, the band has returned! No new songs, but an excellent chance for the Dutch and Belgian fans to sing along with 'Blauw', 'Rigoreus' and 'Iedereen is van de Wereld' at Bospop 2007.
After playing in Thin Lizzy, Colosseum II and Skid Row, Gary Moore launched his first solo album in 1973. His best-known song is 'Still Got The Blues'. On Sunday 8 July Bospop visitors can enjoy this classic by Gary Moore and many more. After their success at Bospop 2006 The Waterboys will be coming back to Weert in 2007. Their new album 'Book of Lighting' was launched in April and Bospop is an indispensable part of their promotion tour. Also Venice played at several editions of Bospop; they will be joining us again after five years away. 'Keep the blues alive for many years to come' is the credo of the almost 75-year old John Mayall. He is not about to retire yet. And that's a good thing, for otherwise we would not be able to see this living legend and his 'Bluesbreakers' at Bospop 2007.
